When someone says to you that there XBOX 360 has the Red Ring of Death, it can sound so final. The truth be told, it is. This actually means that your system has bit the dust and in order to bring it back to life you would have to send it back to Mircrosoft for them to repair it. They may even just keep it and send you a refurbished one and all at their expense.

It is important to remember that if the time comes that you will need to send your system back to them, keep the front portion of the console since this has all of your information in it. Of course, XBOX 360 is trying to accommodate as many people as they can for this general hardware failure. Yes folks, it is general. Of course that means that they have no idea what is causing the issue they just know how to fix it. Does that make any sense?

The system ends up over heating and from the temperature changing constantly. This is the cause of the Red Ring of Death. They have not figured out a way as of yet to prevent this from happening but they are working on it.

If you find yourself experiencing the Red Ring of Death and have to send your system back for repair, you will have to go without a system for approximately 2 to 10 weeks. That can be a long wait for someone that is a hard core gamer. Sorry folks, it has to have time to get shipped there, received and shipped back.

Even though this is somewhat of a lengthy process, you really should not complain. The bottom line is, Microsoft is aware of the problem, they have extended the warranty for that specific issue and they are enabling you to ship it and get it repaired for free. In today’s society, that is a rare occurrence.

So, chuck it up to an unfortunate occurrence, send it back and get it repaired. Hopefully you will escape the Red Ring of Death but if not, you now know what steps to take to get it repaired.
