The enhanced Xbox Live service can make players fight online and download different programs like game demos, trailers, arcade games, movies, TV shows and more.
Available in three configurations and each to its own selection of accessories, the Xbox 360 comes with “Arcade” console, “Pro” console, and “Elite” console.

Xbox 360 Arcade- Microsoft’s president of Entertainment Devices division Robbie Beach announced publicly that the Xbox 360 Arcade replaced the “Xbox 360 Core” on October 22, 2007. The box comes with composite AV cable, an internal 256 MB memory chip, a wireless controller, 5 Xbox Live Arcade titles namely: Boom Boom Rocket; Feeding Frenzy; Luxor 2; Pac-Man Championship Edition; and Uno in one single disk. There is also a “Welcome Video” and a collection of more games and demos. The Holiday 2008 consoles also came with Sega Superstars Tennis.

Xbox 360 Pro – with all the functions from Xbox 360 Core plus an optional optical out that replaced the composite cable and a hybrid component cable, the Xbox 360 Pro come with a detachable 20 or 60GB Hard Disk. In September 2007, with the shipment of new “Falcon” and replacing the “Zephyr” motherboard, the Xbox became more quieter and cooler.

Xbox 360 Elite – the most expensive of all the Xbox consoles because the hardisk has 120 GB, includes an HMO 1.2 cable, a headset and a controller. The motherboard has the Falcon 65nm chipset which also replaced the Zephyr mother board at earlier time of release. The difference you can see is the re-design in power connector as well as the power supply which is 175w.

There were numerous reports of defective consoles since it’s release in 2005. The popular “Red Ring of Death” which is a general hardware failure problem is recognized when three rings around the power button flashes red. Because of this, Microsoft aided customers with defective consoles by extending the manufacturer’s warranty to three years specifically for the above mentioned failure. Other failures are not covered under the warranty.
